BIOGRAPHY
I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Miami. My research focus is on local governance. There are more than 19,000 municipal governments in the United States, all impacting the lives of their residents through service provision and policymaking. My scholarship is motivated by a desire to understand how local governments can best serve the interests of their residents through their institutional structure, their policies, and the services they provide. Specifically, my research seeks to understand local government policymaking, local government service provision, and communication between local governments and their residents about important current policy issues and how residents view these issues.
